Colorful Cloth Diapers!

There have been a few things that have made me ridiculously happy lately, one of them is receiving the baby's cloth diapers!!!
I decided to go with the one-size Fuzzi Bunz and they now come in awesome colors! I tried to keep to more neutral ones - thankfully they had a lot! :)

Box of 18

the yellow ones are called "Mac&Cheese"... just saying :)

I orderd Fuzzi Bunz "special package," which also came with a travel diaper bag, two pail liners, laundry product and cloth wipes....!

Almost through week 24!

And my husband and co-workers told me this week that the baby had moved higher in my belly and was definitely growing... so I decided to take some pictures.

I also had my first panic attack today... but this deserves its very own post :)

Doctor's appointment - February 10, 2011

We had another baby appointment on Thursday with Dr. Price. As Kalen mentioned it, it was for sure our shortest visit ever - which is fine with us :)

The baby is doing good; apparently I measure the right size (whatever that may mean :) ); his heartbeat is at 140 for now and should be decreasing in the coming weeks as he keeps growing bigger. We could hear him move while listening to his heartbeat, and it confirmed what I already thought: that baby is quite the active one!

My blood pressure is good; my weight is good - I am definitely weighing more than Kalen now!... though he keeps gaining some pounds too, apparently (I am so thankful for having a husband who agrees to gain some sympathy weight along with me :D).

Dr. Price gave us her direct number as well as her pager number, because she said we are getting closer and she wants us to be able to reach her if anything happens (I wanted to tell her: "Lady, thank you very much but that baby is not popping out anytime soon; I am NOT ready yet :P"... but I kept quiet, and just smiled and waved).
Oh! And the baby has actually reached 24 weeks today which makes him "viable" now; again, whatever that may mean. (All I know is that it's a good news, so I'm happy with that :)).

In the "other news" section, he started kicking last week and now can't stop doing it... He even discovered last night that he could kick mommy while she is trying to sleep - he and I may have to have a talk about this... :) He does also kick when I'm reading Winnie the Pooh to him; I guess he already has good taste in literature :)

Because we are getting closer (I guess we are three weeks away from the third trimester...!), our appointments will now be every three weeks.

Oh, and don't ask if we have picked a name... cause we have not :)

Week 22

Last week was a pretty eventful week. I think the most special thing that took place was that I started feeling the baby kicking. I had felt him move and wiggle around before; even push back when people were bothering him and pocking him. But last week, he most definitely started kicking at random times.
The first time it happened (I think it was Tuesday), I thought to myself: "Funny, I feel like my heart is throbbing in my lower belly. I hope the baby is ok." As it happened again shortly after, I started wondering why I had that throbbing feeling and then also wondered if I was suffering from a giant gas problem (I know, I know... :-) ). It took me about half a day to realize that I was  doing completely fine and that I was actually being kicked from the inside. Since then, he has not really stopped kicking. Mostly in the mornings and afternoons, and once at night so far. Though it still does feel a little weird, I have to confess that I really enjoy the feeling so far. It is pretty amazing.
The other thing that happened last week is that I received the cloth diapers. I guess for most people there is nothing really exciting about this, but I must confess that it totally made my day. First of all, they are so very cute in all their different colors (I need to take a picture)! And, secondly, it just makes me happy that I took this decision and went ahead and ordered what we needed. Not a lot of people around me seem to be very supportive of my cloth-diapers choice. I've gotten some weird looks; some giggles; and some people who just said that I'll never hold on to it and will give up very quickly. I know it's going to be more work than disposable diapers; and I know it will be gross most of the time, and that it will require a good organization and some adjustements... But I'm ready for it. I do believe that cloth diapers are healthier for babies, and they are also less expensive (especially if you plan to have more than one baby). I guess I kind of look at it like I look at natural childbirth... It requires preparation; it may be time-consuming, and exhausting at times, but in the end, it is all worth it, both for the baby and us. And I am very thankful that one of my friends' sister has been using cloth diapers with her daughter who is now 18 months (she has been so very supportive and encouraging; and has given me LOTS of advice); and also that my mother-in-law (who will be helping me with the baby when I have to go back to work) supports that choice.

I think that's about all for last week. We have our monthly check-up on Thursday and I hope that everything will go well!

Mid Pregnancy Pictures

My sister Rynelle (she is actually one of my sister-in-law; but I always refer to them all as sisters, because they really are like sisters to me) is a photographer. And, may I say, an amazing one! So, when I got pregnant, I asked her if she would take a couple of pictures along the way, and she was pretty excited about the idea. We got together about three weeks ago for the mid-pregnancy photoshoot (I was actually just 21 weeks). That day, it was just me and her (and the baby :)); but the hubby will be included next time (which will probably take place around 36 weeks or something.

Here are a couple of the pictures.
